As you would undoubtedly be aware two key independent MP announced their decisions yesterday to support the Gillard Government and allow them to form a minority government.
The decision of the Greens and three independents (Andrew Wilkie, Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott) gives the ALP the support of 76 seats in the House of Representatives compared to the 75 seats of the Coalition with the support of the Member for Kennedy, Bob Katter.
The agreement with the 'rural independents' only guarantees support for supply and no confidence motions and other legislation will be subject to negotiation. You can download a copy of the agreement from the link below.
We now wait for the new ministry to be announced and will be seeking an early meeting with the Minister for Education.
