Fresh Vision
This year’s theme is Fresh Vision. The hope is that you will be refreshed, challenged and encouraged in your own leadership, and that the discussions at the conference will help shape future options for our movement and CSA.

Information about the programme:
Keynote speaker: Mark Strom BTh, MA (Hons), ThM (Hons), PhD
The Legacy of Paul (Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th)
Dr Mark Strom is Principal and Senior Lecturer in Theology at NZ’s Laidlaw College, a tertiary college which states its vision as being ‘to equip students and scholars to renew their communities with a faith as intelligent as it is courageous’. Mark’s PhD research explored the interaction of Paul, the ancient Graeco-Roman world and issues of leadership in contemporary Christian endeavour. His publications include The Symphony of Scripture; Reframing Paul and The Arts of the Wise Leader.
Mark’s keynote sessions will draw us into a deep study of Paul and build a picture of his legacy within western thought.
Mark argues that Paul was the first to translate the Gospel specifically to speak into the culture of the day. Centuries later this is our mission. The sessions will inspire and refresh leaders engaged in this exciting work day by day, in our Christian schools. Mark will challenge us to look again at the big picture reasons for our ministry in today’s culture.
Leadership workshops
Mark will also conduct workshop sessions on leadership – his other great passion - and build a coherent picture and practical skills around the theme Wisdom for Leading.
Looking to the future: Strategic thinking session
Friday 13th
The Conference will deliberately engage CSA leaders about the future. Nick Ingram is a gifted thinker (with a degree in Pure Mathematics) and acknowledged leader in facilitation, strategic planning and training in organisations. Nick has held senior positions in banking and finance. He is a Christian with a good appreciation of the mission of Christian schools.
We have asked Nick to lead us through a process of examining the historic vision for Christian schooling, and help us to sharpen and shape it for current and future challenges.
We aim for the outcomes of this session to include ideas leaders to apply in their schools and communities, and ideas for CSA to consider as a movement.
The session will draw on outcomes of the recent survey of CSA’s members, and outcomes of the session will inform the strategic planning process of CSA’s National and State Councils.
Conference Dinner
The dinner will be an opportunity to celebrate, catch up with colleagues and be entertained by one of Australia’s leading musical variety artists, Karen Becket.
Karen is a multi-award winning musician (including two Mo Awards, and best female gospel singer). She has an international reputation through her stage and TV appearances, including a leading role in Les Miserables. She is a regular performer on cruise lines, including the QE2. Her recordings include an album of Christian music “From Here to Eternity”. As a member of Berowra Baptist Church Karen has a long standing association with Christian schooling.

Worship and fellowship
Each day of our conference begins with praise and worship, and the level of informal fellowship among delegates is always a highlight of the event. Our location in 2010, Crowne Plaza Terrigal, is ideal in encouraging this atmosphere. We are returning to this venue because it received very high approval by delegates when we were there previously. Many guests will choose to extend their stay into the weekend with their spouses.
