Students from Jubilee Christian College are set to be visited by Queensland’s up and coming elite athletes. They will learn about the importance of being physically active as part of the initiative from the Bligh Government as it promotes its 2010 campaign ‘Get Active Queensland Schools’.
Athletes, including junior Australian hockey representative Marnie Hudson and swimming Youth Olympian Jacinta Powell, will visit Jubilee on Wednesday 4 August.
The Get Active program is an opportunity for students to learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle which is designed to show the fun side of physical activity and for the students to carry it through into their adult lives.
Since its initial launch in 2002 over 2000 schools have participated in the program sending more than 260 000 students the right message about living healthier lives.
