Green Point Christian College warmly welcomed the arrival of Federal Minister for School Education Peter Garrett on June 10 with students forming a guard of honour.

Minister Garrett, who was on the coast to to talk with teachers and students about the Australian Government's vision for the nation's schools, attended the opening of the College's new federally funded Creative and Performing Arts Centre.

Students from a number of schools across the coast showcased their talents at the College's new performing arts centre in front of the minister.

The $3.2 million centre was officially opened just four weeks ago.
