Timothy Whelan, a 12 year old student at Belmont Christian College has been named vice-chairperson of the LITTLE Committee – an organisation designed to help Australia tackle its litter pollution.

The committee is made up of 10 Australian children under the age of 15 who were hand-picked by a panel that included former senator Natasha Stott Despoja.

One of the committee’s goals is to help Australia reduce its litter by at least 10per cent over five years.

The committee was launched last Tuesday at Parliament House in Canberra where the committee then had their first meeting and some adverts for TV.
