CHARLTON CHRISTIAN COLLEGE A “community-sized” college, which will nurture your child from Kindergarten to HSC, Charlton Christian College strives to provide a Christ-focused education of excellence, within a positive, creative, challenging & caring environment. The College emphasizes the partnership between home and school in developing each student's talents and abilities. The lakeside campus is situated on 12 hectares of beautiful bushland beside Fassifern Railway Station, and is administered by the Christian Education Foundation.

The Junior School(K-4) has a varied curriculum with specialist teachers taking Music, Sport, Gymnastics, French and Information Literacy. Students from Kindergarten to Year 4 are taught a phonemic approach to reading and writing using the LEM program. A practical, hands-on approach is evident in all classrooms as teachers design learning activities which cater for different learning styles. Parents strongly support the programs, visiting classrooms, assisting with reading schemes and extra-curricular activities and fulfilling their roles in partnership with God and the College.

Middle School(5-8) classes have a “home” teacher over these years, as students gradually increase the time spent with specialist teachers. The decision to develop a “Middle School” style was made to improve the learning patterns of students in the early secondary years and to decrease the “loss of learning” which can occur across the Primary/Secondary divide. Middle School also offers a better opportunity for pastoral oversight of students.

The Senior School(9-12) continues the extensive Middle School program with the proven success of “above state average” results in the School Certificate. With its exciting new FOCUSSED HSC PROGRAM Year 11 & 12 students study fewer subjects each year, completing half of their subject choices in HSC YEAR ONE and the balance in HSC YEAR TWO. This means less stress and greater application to the demands of the HSC. Pastoral care is continued with vertically-streamed, single sex “family” groups.
