Mission Northcross Christian School will:
++ Deliver a quality Christ-centred curriculum
++ Develop and nurture the whole child – spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and physically
++ Provide students with opportunities to actively serve and minister using their gifts
++ Offer a strong academic program that caters for individual needs.
History Northcross Christian School, formerly Ryde Christian Community School, was established in 1981 by Ryde Baptist Church. It began as a group of approximately 30 K-6 students and over years or gradual growth, composite classes and limited resources has become the thriving school it is today. The aim of the school in the early days was to provide quality, affordable Christian schooling to the Christian community of Ryde and surrounding areas.
Over 25 years later the school continues to fulfil that vision and that remains a key value of the school. The school had a re-branding in 2002 which saw a name change, new logo and a change in uniform from green and gold to blue, white and red.
In 2003 the school began a new season of growth with the beginning of double-streaming.
Expansion Each year a new class has been added to the school and we now have 2 classes per grade K-3 and full classes in grades 4-6. Our aim is to see full double-streamed grades across the school within the coming years. With the growth of the school, new buildings will be built on the school site. Stage 1 is due to be completed by 2008. Stage 2 will follow within the next 5 years.
