Geoff Bowser, Headmaster of Wycliffe Christian School and known to many as a long standing colleague in Christian education, is seeking participation in an online survey as part of a research project about the well-being of Australia’s teachers and school leaders.
We encourage you to take part in this research and pass it on to others, It should take about 15 minutes to complete the online survey.
Further details are in Geoff's letter to CSA outlining the research:
Participants are being sought for a research project about the well-being of Australia’s teachers and school leaders. This study seeks participants from across Australia, from each school sector and from both school leaders and school teachers, including those with other executive roles. Participation is invited from full-time, part-time and casual teachers. It is anticipated that the data from the study will be used in research publications, conference presentations and made available for dissemination to teachers, school leaders, schools, educational authorities, teacher unions and professional bodies. The study is being conducted by Geoffrey Bowser and will contribute to the Masters degree project in Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) at James Cook University.
Participation in the study is designed to not be burdensome, taking approximately 12 to 15 minutes for completion. For ease of use and anonymity, participants are invited to complete an online questionnaire. The questionnaire can be accessed here.
This project invites teachers and school leaders to report on a range of workplace factors as well as the connection between work life and life outside work. With the exception of some Government commissioned workforce data collection, most previous research with Australian teachers and school leaders focuses on one group or the other and has generally not sought participants from all school sectors across Australia. This research is also being undertaken at a time when school teachers and school leaders are expected to play a key role in the delivery of the Australian Government’s reform agenda for education.
