School Development Officer
Andrew Taylor has spent over 30 years in education as a teacher, cluster educator, performance & development leader, deputy and acting principal, and school improvement consultant, and has spent the last 15 years focusing on building capacity in teachers and school leaders.
Andrew has a Bachelor of Education, Master of Education (School Leadership), and a Graduate Diploma in Sport Marketing & Management. He has served in the secondary, primary, government and independent school sectors. Andrew is an experienced school improvement consultant focusing on building strong foundations that underpin all school activities. He is also an experienced facilitator of professional learning, having developed and lead staff curriculum days, small group professional learning sessions, and presented at various conferences in Australia and overseas, including the Learning Forward (NSDC) and Phi Delta Kappa national conferences in the USA, and the Expanding Learning Horizons, Leading a Digital School and ULearn conferences in Australia & New Zealand. Andrew also currently serves as a consultant with Independent Schools Queensland in their Self-Improving Schools project.
In 2005 Andrew was the recipient of the Victorian Education Excellence Awards Lindsay Thompson Fellowship. This award, valued at $50,000, provided the opportunity for him to visit schools and school districts across the United States, and observe a variety of school and classroom-based professional learning and development strategies.
Andrew lives on the Gold Coast with his family; his wife Heather, and two young adult sons. They all worship at NewLife Church in Robina.
