Ken Greenwood has a rich heritage in Christian Education, having worked for many years in both CSA and CEN schools in Victoria and NSW. He was a member of the first cohort of students to be educated at Mt Evelyn Christian School, where his father was founding president of the school Board. Following his training at the University of Melbourne, Ken worked as a Science and Maths teacher at Donvale Christian School, then moved to NSW to take up the position of Head of Secondary at Penrith Christian Community School. Since then he has held two Principal positions – 4 years at Northside Christian College, Vic, and 11 years at Taree Christian College, NSW.
Ken has a strong conviction that Christian Education should be accessible to all parents who desire it for their children. He has practical experience in helping Christian schools serve multi-cultural communities, indigenous communities, regional as well as suburban communities. His most recent school is situated in a low-SES area, where he has been involved in accessing various forms of targeted funding to improve literacy outcomes, indigenous student outcomes, and accessibility of Christian education to low-income families. Ken has been instrumental in establishing a special campus for students with social/emotional needs in his regional area.
Ken and Gayle have two teenage sons. In his spare time, Ken enjoys gardening, fishing and home improvements, with some cooking of home-grown produce thrown in. Gayle enjoys creating mixed-media artistic works, usually around themes of redemption and restoration. Ken has a deep appreciation for the Bible teaching he received in his youth, and enjoys sharing scriptural truths at every opportunity. With his previous involvement on the CSA State and National Councils, and having been a teacher and Principal in Victoria. Ken is well-placed to assist our schools in Victoria and Tasmania.?
