The ATO is now providing its Fringe benefits tax – a guide for employers to download in portable document format (PDF). You can use this as a quick reference when dealing with FBT.
The comprehensive guide covers:
- types of fringe benefits
- calculating FBT
- how to work out and record reportable fringe benefit amounts for employees
- records to keep
- exempt benefits and benefits which receive concessional treatment.
The end of the FBT year is approaching (31 March), so now is a great time to review the guide and ensure you’re meeting your FBT obligations.
