Last week the final achievement standards for the first four subjects (Maths, Science, History and English) in the Australian Curriculum were endorsed by the Commonwealth, State and Territory Education Ministers, allowing states and territories to get on with rolling out the curriculum.
Schools spend large amounts on copy right fees for educational purposes, but are still at risk of omitting to pay applicable fees that other businesses pay. The recording industry watchdog, the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA), has shifted its compliance focus from education to enforcement.
