Direct Measure of Income webinar

The Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE) is holding a webinar on the Direct Measure of Capacity to Contribute on Wednesday 5 August 2020 from 5:00-5:45pm (EST). This webinar is suitable for school principals and business manager to attend.

The webinar will provide information on the direct measure of income methodology as well as the quality assurance and validation process and the formal review process.  The information will be divided into three parts:

  • Part 1 reviews the DMI methodology and implementation (approximately 30 minutes) – this session is aimed at participants with no prior knowledge of the DMI
  • Part 2 discusses the Data Quality and Validation Framework, the forward work program, CTC score review process, analysis on regional schools and the Choice and Affordability Fund (approximately 1.5 hours)
  • Part 3 will be a live Q&A panel event for the Independent sector (approximately 45 minutes)

Part 1 and Part 2 will be available for viewing 24 hours prior to the live panel event (Part 3). The live panel Q&A session for the Independent sector will start at 5pm (EST) on Wednesday 5 August 2020 and run for approximately 45 minutes.  Part 3 is tailored specifically for the Independent sector where attendees can submit questions for the panel to answer during this time, although the Department will not be able to respond to specific school circumstances but can answer questions of a more general nature.
