CSA National Curriculum Symposium
22nd March 2018 - 23rd March 2018

Following the success of Stages 1 and 2 of CSA’s Curriculum Action Group, in which God’s Big Story and Train the Trainer modules were developed, CSA is very pleased to announce the launch of Stage 3. The intentional development over the next five years of high quality programs and curriculum units, working within the eight Australian Curriculum Learning Areas, for the Christian school context.
The Focus Learning Area for 2018 is English (for curriculum leaders and F-12 English Teachers).

A team from Christian Heritage College’s School of Education, led by Dr Craig Murison, has recently worked on:
- Developing a simple over-arching rationale for a GBS approach to English in the curriculum.
- Creating an overarching set of ‘Big Ideas’ and ‘Essential Questions’ mapped to GBS 2.0 and the AC: English.
- Developing an exemplar model for unit development in the AC English Curriculum.
This work will be presented at the Symposium and a series of guided workshops will be facilitated with delegates working in year level groups, using the exemplar model, to produce creative and innovative units of work.
So come expecting to be energised, to gain fresh perspectives, to learn, to participate and to contribute. YOU are the resource for each other! And be prepared to inspire and upskill others who could not attend.
A professional learning participation certificate listing relevant AITSL teacher standards and CSA Christian Distinctive teacher standards will be issued following completion of the Symposium.
TARGET AUDIENCE
- Key teachers and curriculum leaders of English (primary and secondary) in Christian schools
- Experienced writers of English curriculum programs and units of work of the Christian school context
- Early career educators who are creative and innovative with a passion for the authentic incorporation of Christian perspectives and worldview into curriculum (English / Literacy)
