As indicated in our Briefing last year, AUSkey will be phased out in 2020, being replaced by myGovID and RAM. These changes will take place from the end of March.
The myGovID and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) services are used to access some ATO and other government online services.
- myGovID – the Australian Government’s digital identity provider that allows you to prove who you are online. myGovID is different to your myGov account.
- RAM – an authorisation service that allows you to act on behalf of a business online when linked with your myGovID.
These services replace AUSkey and Manage ABN Connections (your ABN connected to your myGov account). For more details and an outline of the processes to follow the ATO has provided detailed information here.
The ATO is also running webinars to assist Christian schools and other NFPs transition to the new services, see the details at the bottom of the ATO page here.
A factsheet outlining the necessary processes to make the change can be downloaded from the ATO here.
Schools are encouraged not to leave these changes until the last minute!
