- Good Faith – Being a Christian when Society thinks you’re Irrelevant and Extreme by David Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons (2016) Baker Books
The authors are leaders at Barna and Q. The book, Good Faith seeks to explain how to effectively reach society in a fresh way without eliciting a polarising response. The book explores the tensions of being a person of faith in today’s postmodern society. Good Faith provides five lenses through which a person can rationally engage with controversial issues while respecting the audience and remaining true to scripture. The book challenges the Christian leader to “look outwards” and does not shy away from controversial topics, such as same sex relationships. Good Faith provides a guide to how these sensitive issues may be handled in a respectful, biblical manner.
Larry Taylor – Running with the Horses – A Parenting Guide for raising Children to be Servant-Leaders for Christ.

You lost me – David Kinnaman
More than 60 percent of young people who went to church as teens drop out after high school. This is a striking and alarming statistic. Now the bestselling author of unChristian trains his researcher’s eye on these young believers. Where Kinnaman’s first book unChristian showed the world what outsiders aged 16-29 think of Christianity, You Lost Me shows why younger Christians, ages 16-29, are leaving the church and rethinking their faith. Based on new research, You Lost Me shows pastors, church leaders, and parents how we have failed to equip young people to live “in but not of” the world and how this has serious long-term consequences. He then offers suggestions on how to help young people develop and maintain a vibrant faith that they embrace rather than toss away.
Unchristian: What a New Generation Really Thinks about Christianity…and Why It Matters – David Kinnaman, Gabe Lyons
Based on groundbreaking Barna Group research, unChristian uncovers the negative perceptions young people have of Christianity and explores what can be done to reverse them.
Christians are supposed to represent Christ to the world. But according to the latest report card, something has gone terribly wrong. Using descriptions like “hypocritical,” “insensitive,” and “judgmental,” young Americans share an impression of Christians that’s nothing short of . . . unChristian.
Groundbreaking research into the perceptions of sixteen- to twenty-nine-year-olds reveals that Christians have taken several giant steps backward in one of their most important assignments. The surprising details of the study, commissioned by Fermi Project and conducted by The Barna Group, are presented with uncompromising honesty in unChristian.
Find out why these negative perceptions exist, learn how to reverse them in a Christlike manner, and discover practical examples of how Christians can positively contribute to culture.

Christian Philosophy of Education
A written statement of personal philosophy of Christian Education is often requested when a teacher or leader applies for employment or promotion in a Christian school. It is also a useful point of reference when conducting performance appraisals.
A Christian Philosophy of Education seeks to address 3 elements:
How Does God view those placed in my care?
What is my calling?
What is the Telos (end, purpose or goal) of our time together?
These guidelines and samples are provided to assist you in developing and articulating your own statement. Each individual’s statement will be different, reflecting the insights, convictions and experiences gained through your journey in Christian Education.
CSA welcomes additional samples and resources to enhance the material provided on this site. We can all learn from one another as we travel this journey together.
